Naturopathic Approach to Fertility
Fertility Support
Trying to conceive can be an exciting but sometimes challenging journey. Whether you are preparing for pregnancy, actively trying to conceive, experiencing fertility difficulties, or planning to undergo assisted reproductive treatment, many factors can influence reproductive health in both women and men.
We regularly support individuals and couples seeking support with concerns such as irregular menstrual cycles, ovulatory dysfunction, PCOS/PMOS, endometriosis, recurrent miscarriage, hormonal imbalances, poor egg quality, low sperm count, reduced sperm motility, suboptimal sperm morphology, and preparation for IVF or IUI treatment.
A Personalised Approach to Fertility
Every fertility journey is unique. Some individuals may already have a diagnosis or known contributing factor, while others may have undergone investigations with no clear explanation for their difficulties conceiving.
Many couples also choose to seek support before actively trying for a baby. While there are many aspects of fertility that cannot be controlled, taking the opportunity to optimise overall health, nutritional status, lifestyle factors, and reproductive wellbeing prior to conception may help ensure you are entering this stage of life in the best possible position. For this reason, many experts recommend considering preconception health several months before trying to conceive.
Our approach focuses on understanding the wider picture of health, including reproductive health, hormonal balance, nutrition, lifestyle factors, metabolic health, and any existing medical conditions. By reviewing these areas together, we can help identify opportunities to support your fertility goals through a personalised complementary medicine approach.

What Can You Do About It?
Many aspects of fertility are influenced by factors that can be supported through nutrition, lifestyle, and overall health optimisation. Nutritional status, blood sugar regulation, stress resilience, sleep quality, digestive health, environmental exposures, and healthy body composition may all influence reproductive health.
However, fertility concerns are often complex and may require a more personalised approach. At our naturopathic and herbal medicine clinic, we utilise clinical herbal medicine informed by current scientific evidence, nutraceutical support, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, and functional testing where appropriate. Combining these approaches allows us to create personalised fertility support plans tailored to your individual needs and goals.
Herbal Medicine & Nutritional Support
At our clinic, we create fully bespoke herbal and nutraceutical protocols tailored to each individual's symptoms, health history, and fertility goals.
Nutritional status plays an important role in reproductive health for both men and women, and recommendations may include targeted nutritional support where appropriate. Herbal medicine may also be incorporated as part of a broader fertility support plan, with protocols tailored according to individual circumstances, cycle patterns, reproductive health history, and overall wellbeing.
As every fertility journey is unique, recommendations are personalised and may be adjusted over time based on progress, investigations, and changing needs.
Fertility Testing
Where appropriate, we may recommend additional testing and investigations to help provide further insight into fertility and reproductive health concerns. We regularly review existing blood tests, hormone panels, fertility investigations, semen analysis reports, ultrasound findings, and medical reports as part of the assessment process. Where further conventional testing may be beneficial, we may recommend discussing appropriate investigations with your GP, fertility clinic, or consultant.
Testing can be useful in assessing areas such as nutritional status, thyroid function, blood sugar regulation, reproductive hormones, inflammatory markers, and other factors that may influence fertility and reproductive health.
We also offer a range of functional medicine testing options where appropriate. Depending on your symptoms, health history, and fertility goals, this may include comprehensive hormone testing such as DUTCH testing, adrenal hormone profiles, microbiome testing, vaginal microbiome testing, digestive health assessments, beta-glucuronidase analysis, detoxification and metabolic pathway assessments, as well as selected genetic (DNA SNP) testing. These tests can provide additional information that may help guide a more personalised naturopathic support plan.
Our Approach
At our clinic, we take an evidence-based, highly personalised, and integrative approach to complementary medicine. Rather than relying on a single therapy, we combine clinical herbal medicine, nutraceutical support, nutrition, and lifestyle medicine to create individualised plans tailored to each client's needs.
Where appropriate, we also utilise functional testing and review existing blood tests, medical reports, and investigations to help build a more complete picture of your health. We believe the best outcomes are often achieved when complementary and conventional healthcare work together, and we are always happy to collaborate with your GP, consultant, fertility specialist, or other healthcare providers as part of your support plan.
By combining evidence-based herbal medicine, nutritional support, lifestyle interventions, and appropriate testing, we aim to provide comprehensive support that addresses both your current concerns and your long-term reproductive health goals.
